About the program

The Student Startup pilot program was introduced to stimulate youth entrepreneurship and help business ideas move into practice inside universities across the Kyrgyz Republic. The initiative is implemented with support from the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation.

Results so far

  • Fifteen startup projects were successfully completed in 2023–2024.
  • Ten more projects remained in active implementation during 2025.
  • The program has become a practical mechanism for building startup culture inside universities.

Funding and impact

State support for the program has continued to grow. In 2025 the total funding volume reached KGS 8,189,870, giving student teams more room to test, develop, and scale their ideas.

The program helps students move from concept to execution while giving universities a stronger innovation environment built around entrepreneurship, applied research, and product thinking.
